FAQ

Do I need to wear a wig grip? What does it do?

A wig grip comes with each order. I love it for baldies and for women who still have some hair. It acts as an anchor between your hair and the wig and provides more security and comfort. Although your wig is adjustable by the nape and can size down an entire 1"+ in circumference, the wig grip will ensure you can ride a rollercoaster, stick your head out of a window, and be in extreme weather without it slipping or sliding. I would suggest trying it if you haven't yet!

What styling tools do you suggest?

Any styling tool works on your wig! The very best tools to use on your human hair wig is a bio ionic curling iron or a curling iron made with ceramic material. Link below!

How often should I wash my wig?

The life of your wig is dependent on how often you wash it. Our human hair wigs don't get the moisture and nutrients from our scalp like our natural hair so washing definitely can dry it out more. I would suggest washing every 4-6 weeks, leaving it in the sink with conditioner for 30 minutes-1 hour before rinsing. I also would avoid using a hairdryer and letting it air dry under a ceiling fan. The more heat you can avoid the better!

What are some wig no-no's?

  • Do not use any heavy oils on the hair (moroccan, argan, coconut). It weighs down the hair and stresses it more than aiding.
  • Avoid getting a haircut with non-professional or dull shears. Must use very sharp, salon-grade quality shears to ensure the cuticle stays intact.
  • Try to stay away from putting product directly into the top of your wig or near knots. You do not want to loosen them up and cause shedding.
  • Avoid unnecessary heat, like blow drying, or holding a curling iron too long.
  • Do not cut off or remove your ear tabs, it changes the size of your wig significantly and will end up too big on you.
  • Do not cut the lace into the hairline if you have a widows peak. I would suggest a silk top/no lace front wig to be able to wear your widows peak out, or to shave off  your widows peak to wear any piece.
  • Do not use heat protectant as it will irritate the hair. Less is better. Just use the iron on 350 degrees and below, and you should be just fine!

What is the difference between a "lace top" and a "silk top" wig?

All wigs are to be worn glueless. They are "throw and go".

Silk top: For people who don’t mind concealing a small transition from the silk to lace material. These clients prefer no visible knots and a part line that is nice and bright. They may also enjoy the comfy materials on the inside and find less lace less itchy. Silk tops are more dense pieces, so for girls that love long, thick hair that lays very flat on top, this is perfect for you!

Single/double Lace top: For people that enjoy no visible transition. Small knots don’t bother them because they look like tiny follicles up close and they are bleached to the perfect amount. Lace tops are a more natural density for women who don’t want the wig to overpower their frames. Lace tops are a bit more delicate, so experienced wig wearers know how to be gentle and take care of them well and how to avoid unusual shedding. Every piece sheds over time, so don’t panic! Just make sure you are following a recommended routine. Lace tops are fully hand-tied up top, so enjoy the natural looking hairline that flows in the wind and doing all of the updos with ease! Very lightweight and breathable!

What is "bleaching the knots" and what does that mean for my wig?

"Bleaching the knots" applies to lace top wig only. Hair is individually sewn into the cap and tied up at the very top creating follicle-like dots. They are not extremely noticeable, but we lightly bleach them to lift the overall color to appear less visible; however, we are careful! Over-bleaching knots can cause balding, tinted orange lace, and look less realistic. A light bleach is always best!
